Blind Ministry
We seek to provide information and referral for services and products for people who are blind and visually impaired, and we can put you and your church in touch with Braille products, large print and audio resources. The Baptist State Convention records and distributes the Biblical Recorder and the Mission Mosaic magazine and these services are free. Each year the Convention sponsors the Baptist Fellowship Retreat for the Blind and Visually Impaired. We are also available to speak to churches about ministry with people who are blind.  

Deaf Ministry
The Convention provides training opportunities throughout the year for Deaf pastors and ministry leaders, including church interpreters. The Together in Christ conference, North Carolina Baptist Conference of the Deaf and Deaf Youth Retreat are resources for spiritual growth.

Developmental Disability Ministry
The Convention provides ministry training, special camps and retreats, day camps, and family events on a statewide basis. The flag ship events are Happiness Retreats which reach hundreds of people each year. Specialists across the state are available to help churches begin and excel in Developmental Disability ministry.

Literacy Missions Ministry
About 22 percent of residents in North Carolina are functionally illiterate. School dropout rates are increasing and many internationals are handicapped by lack of English skills. As churches meet needs through Adult Reading and Writing, Tutoring Children and Youth, and English as a Second Language, opportunity comes to share the Gospel. Extensive training is available in all three areas of Literacy Missions and an annual conference provides advanced training for churches and associations.
